Make an impact with our Legal & Risk Management team as Legal Counsel. This diverse team of professionals provides legal expertise to support the success of our operations across a broad range of practice areas. As a trusted advisor, you’ll apply your understanding of the legislative landscape to proactively explore and mitigate risk and ensure firmwide compliance.

Responsibilities

Manage employment litigation on behalf of the Firm, from early case assessment and strategy development to drafting pleadings and conducting research and analysis

Work closely with business leaders to support a broad range of employment areas, including discipline and terminations

Identify legal issues, research and analyze complicated situations quickly

Develop good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including working effectively with outside counsel

Conduct legal research and provide practical advice to various leaders and executives

Advise senior human resource leadership on a variety of employment-related issues

Draft concise emails and legal documents

Assist in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, and provide legal support on various strategic human resources initiatives

Skills And Experience

Minimum of three to five years of post-call or related experience in employment law at a law firm or in-house legal department, including court or tribunal appearances

Excellent knowledge of human rights legislation, trends and practices

Knowledge of privacy law is considered an asset

Excellent oral and written communication and strong organizational skills

Bilingual (English and French) is considered an asset
