Geographic Information Systems Analyst
We are looking for a GIS Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
This position is a hybrid position primarily on-site in downtown Calgary.
Role Description
We are seeking a GIS Analyst to support enterprise geospatial platforms used for mapping, spatial analysis, and data visualization. This role will focus on maintaining spatial data services, supporting geospatial applications, and assisting with the development and integration of mapping solutions across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with geospatial platforms used in web-based and enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support enterprise geospatial platforms.
- Manage spatial datasets and geospatial data integrations.
- Support the development and maintenance of geospatial APIs and services.
- Perform spatial data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Monitor performance and availability of geospatial services.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate mapping capabilities into enterprise applications.
- Support spatial database management and data quality initiatives.
- Document GIS processes, data standards, and system configurations.
- Assist with integration of geospatial data into enterprise systems and applications.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a GIS Analyst or similar role.
- Experience working with GIS platforms and geospatial data management tools (e.g., ArcGIS or similar).
- Knowledge of spatial data analysis, mapping, and geospatial visualization techniques.
- Familiarity with spatial databases and SQL or data management concepts.
- Experience supporting or maintaining geospatial datasets and mapping services.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within technical teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or similar enterprise GIS platforms.
- Experience working with geospatial APIs or web mapping services.
