Position Overview:
Embedded networking technician supporting Charter's deployment activities at the Client site. Primary focus on assisting with the rollout, configuration, and migration of wired and wireless networking devices as the Client sites transition from Aruba Networks to Juniper solutions. Acts as an on-site technical lead for day-to-day coordination of deployment tasks, without requiring senior-level engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in planning and scheduling network cutovers, including identifying dependencies, risks, and required resources.
Support after-hours and occasional weekend work during major cutovers or low-impact maintenance windows.
Coordinate daily tasks among deployment team members, ensuring alignment with project timelines and site readiness.
Deploy, configure, and validate Juniper wired and wireless equipment across campus buildings.
Assist with migration activities from Aruba hardware and management platforms.
Troubleshoot Layer 1-3 issues and escalate complex problems to Charter engineering teams.
Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and site conditions.
Track and manage inventory of networking hardware, accessories, and consumables.
Communicate progress, blockers, and site updates to Charter project managers and Client IT staff.
Required Qualifications
Foundational Juniper networking training and certification (e.g., JNCIA-Junos).
Hands‑on experience with enterprise networking hardware installation and basic configuration.
Understanding of wired and wireless networking fundamentals (VLANs, PoE, SSIDs, RF basics).
Ability to read and follow network diagrams, cutover plans, and configuration templates.
Strong troubleshooting skills for physical and network‑layer issues.
Comfortable working in varied campus environments, including telecom rooms, classrooms, and research spaces.
Preferred Experience
Exposure to Aruba Networks equipment or management tools.
Experience participating in network refresh or migration projects.
Familiarity with Juniper Mist cloud management.
Basic project coordination or task‑tracking experience.
Ability to assist with simple scheduling, documentation updates, and stakeholder communication.

Reports to Charter's project or deployment manager.
Works closely with Charter network engineers, field teams, and Client IT network operations.

Accurate coordination of daily tasks and clear communication with stakeholders.
Reliable documentation and inventory tracking.
Effective support of the Aruba‑to‑Juniper transition with minimal rework.
