Senior Product Designer

Role Summary

Senior level individual contributor role owning complex product journeys end to end across web and mobile banking experiences. You work as part of a cross functional product squad and are expected to operate with high autonomy and strong product sense.

• Lead discovery and definition of new products and features in your area, including problem framing, hypothesis definition, and scope shaping.
• Produce user flows, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high fidelity UI for web and mobile.
• Translate qualitative and quantitative research into concrete design decisions and prioritised experience improvements.
• Work tightly with Product and Engineering from early concept through delivery, ensuring designs are feasible, testable, and measurable.
• Use and extend the design system, proposing and documenting new patterns where gaps exist.
• Clearly communicate rationale, trade offs, and impact of design decisions to designers, engineers, and executives.
• Mentor mid level and junior designers through critiques, pairing, and feedback.

Applications that do not clearly meet these points should be treated as out of scope.

• Experience designing in fintech, banking, or other regulated domains.
• Minimum five years of professional product design experience for digital products, not including internships or purely visual or marketing design.
• Recent, concrete experience designing complex, multi step product flows such as onboarding, payments, account management, or similar transactional experiences.
• A portfolio that shows:
  • End to end ownership of problems from discovery to shipped solution.
  • Real product constraints and trade offs, not only conceptual work.
  • Clear explanation of your role, process, and measurable results.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern product design tool (for example Figma). You should be able to:
  • Build and maintain components and styles.
  • Create clickable prototypes for usability testing and stakeholder review.
• Hands on experience working with design systems, not only consuming but also proposing or documenting new patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesise research. For example, taking usability test findings, analytics, or customer interviews and turning them into concrete experience changes.
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers and engineering leads. You should be able to point to specific examples where you shaped scope, negotiated constraints, and shipped together.
• Strong foundation in information architecture and UX principles. You can explain why a flow, hierarchy, or interaction is designed the way it is, and what alternatives you considered.
• Professional level English communication, both written and spoken, suitable for working in an English first product and engineering environment.

These are plus points, not strict requirements, but should be highlighted when present.

• Prior work on growth, monetisation, or lifecycle experiences such as activation, retention, and engagement.
• Experience with UX research methods beyond basic usability testing, for example diary studies, surveys, or field research.
• Familiarity with analytics tools and experimentation, for example working with A B tests or product metrics to iterate on designs.

• Total cash compensation typically in the range of 90 000 to 130 000 Canadian dollars per year, depending on level and location.
• Stock options for all employees, providing meaningful ownership in the company.
• Office first collaboration model across Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto, with some flexibility but an expectation of regular in person presence with your product team.
