We are currently seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a leading post-secondary institution based in Calgary, Alberta. The CIO will lead the digital transformation and technology strategy for a leading post-secondary institution. This executive will ensure IT services and infrastructure meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute an institution-wide IT strategy aligned with academic and research priorities

Oversee cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise systems management

Drive digital learning innovations, online delivery platforms, and accessibility technologies

Build partnerships with academic units to advance research computing capabilities

Lead a high-performing, service-oriented IT team

Qualifications:

10+ years in IT leadership, preferably in higher education or public-sector environments

Experience with learning management systems, ERP systems, and data analytics in academia

Knowledge of Alberta’s data privacy regulations and digital infrastructure landscape

Demonstrated success in strategic planning and resource optimization

Have access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license; flexible to travel
