Our client is seeking a IT Governance & Assurance Specialist to strengthen oversight of IT systems, controls, and processes across both corporate and operational technology environments
Location: Calgary, AB (Onsite, Downtown)
Term: 6-month contract with possible extension
Our enterprise Oil & Gas client is seeking an IT Governance & Assurance Specialist to strengthen oversight of IT systems, controls, and processes across both corporate and operational technology environments.
This hands-on role is responsible for auditing IT systems and critical control systems
, assessing IT governance practices, and providing assurance through clear documentation, reporting, and recommendations for improvement. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT controls, risk management, and audit processes
, ideally within an ITIL-based or Service Now environment.
Must have:
7+ years of experience in IT Governance, Audit, or IT Risk Management within large, complex organizationsProven experience conducting IT systems and controls audits (e.g., SOX, ISO , COBIT, NIST, or similar frameworks)Hands-on experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and ITIL practicesStrong ability to evaluate and document IT controls, risks, and mitigation strategiesExperience with Service Now or other governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) or ITSM platformsNice to have:
Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environmentsExperience in Oil & Gas or other regulated, asset-intensive industriesUnderstanding of c
ybersecurity controls and compliance assuranceCertification(s) such as:CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)COBIT or ITIL v4 CertificationCRISC or CISM
