ETL Developer - DataStage, PL​/SQL, Shell Scripting

Experience: 6–8 years

Location: Calgary (Hybrid)

Primary Skill: PL/SQL

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using industry-standard ETL tools (Data Stage preferred).

• Develop and optimize PL/SQL code for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

• Work extensively with MS SQL Server (preferred) or Oracle databases for data processing and validation.

• Perform data analysis, profiling, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

• Develop and maintain shell scripts to support ETL workflows and automation.

• Use enterprise job scheduling tools such as Control-M, Stone Branch, or similar to manage batch processes.

• Monitor ETL jobs, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve production issues.

• Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and downstream teams to understand data requirements.

• Ensure adherence to data quality, performance, and security standards

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.

• 6–8 years of experience in ETL development and data integration
  .

• Strong expertise in PL/SQL
  .

• Hands-on experience with Data Stage (preferred) or other ETL tools.

• Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server (preferred) or Oracle.

• Basic to intermediate experience in Shell scripting
  .

• Experience with
  job scheduling tools such as Control-M or Stone Branch.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  .

• Experience working in large-scale data environments.

• Exposure to performance tuning and optimization.

• Experience supporting production data pipelines.
