About the role
As a Senior Virtualization Architect
, you will combine a diverse technical and industry background coupled with a deep understanding of how technology impacts a business environment. The Principal Architect can translate a business need into an appropriate high-level solution and articulate the value of that solution back to business decision-makers. The Principal Architect is focused on complex opportunities that span multiple solution areas and services offerings.
A Senior Virtualization Architect may leverage Solutions Architects and Services Subject Matter Experts to develop a solution outline depending on the specific technical and services requirements of that opportunity. Along the way, you will get to:
Function in a billable role, providing architecture, design, and implementation skills on server virtualization, server workload migration, and site-to-site replication Disaster Recovery client delivery project.Produce written and visual collateral and materials supporting the server virtualization professional service offerings.Participate in validating the strategy of responding to complex RFPs and coordinating the technical response for the validated opportunities.Provide technology leadership on complex server virtualization projects.Obtain and maintain required vendor certifications as required to support Insight product certification requirements or goals.Report weekly your time engaged in billable activities, product certification, pre-sales activities, professional development, and company initiatives.Provide formal and informal mentoring to technical staff interested in Architecture and Specialist career paths.Provide technical leadership for critical situations when they occur at our Managed Services clients (infrastructure outages, Cybersecurity incidents).Support the partner management team by maintaining technical relationships with key managed partners (Microsoft, Broadcom, HPE, Dell, etc.)When required, travel to participate in Insight technical expos.When required, travel to client location for in-person meetings with key client personnelBe AmbITious: This opportunity is not just about what you do today but also about where you can go tomorrow. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent (mandatory).Minimum 10 years of industry experience in a variety of virtualization architect, designer, and implementation roles.Extensive experience and knowledge of multiple virtualization platforms, server and storage vendors and system development lifecycle methodologies.Extensive experience with project planning, estimating, and project delivery activities.5+ years of project experience in Information Technology (IT) Professional Services.Breath of knowledge around IT infrastructure and data center (network, server, storage).Breadth of knowledge of Broadcom VMware ESX virtualization solution.Knowledge of Broadcom VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) virtualization solution.Breadth of knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V and Azure Local server virtualization solutions.Breath of knowledge of Local and Wide Area Networking design.Experience conducting…
