What's the job?

We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to help ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for various employee groups (Hourly, Salaried, Day Rate, Union/non-union) across multiple provinces in Canada.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our small but mighty team of Payroll professionals, you will primarily manage a specific pay group while collaborating closely with other payroll teams and.

  • Validate and maintain employee master data in ADP for hires, changes, terminations, and transfers.
  • Partner with HR on payroll-related matters.
  • Capture time entries, create batches, and import data into ADP.
  • Prepare, calculate, and process payroll, deductions, retro pay, adjustments, terminations, ROEs, and travel allowances.
  • Audit and balance payroll registers for assigned pay groups.
  • Generate and distribute pay period and monthly reports.
  • Prepare union reporting and payment requisitions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with payroll processes and audit trails.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and escalate HR-related questions appropriately.
  • Support year-end reconciliation and reporting.

This role is fully remote.

Qualifications

Who are we looking for?

  • High school diploma (PCP designation = bonus points!).
  • 3 to 5+ years of payroll experience, ideally in a similar industry.
  • Familiarity with ADP or other payroll systems - bonus points for Dayforce!
  • Solid Excel skills (intermediate to advanced).
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Standards across Canada.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and confidentiality champion.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual (English & French) strongly preferred.
