OUR ROLEResponsible for supporting HR operations of the Dorian, Autograph Collection & Courtyard by Marriott Calgary Downtown, the HR Training & Compliance Manager will focus on planning, delivering and administrating associate training programs to ensure the highest level of talent development and compliance in all brand and company training standards. This position will also provide administrative support for associates as part of the HR department.
Key responsibilities include:- Provide the highest levels of customer service to internal team members at all times, setting the example and tone of interactions for all hotel teams.
- Deliver engaging associate training programs, including but not limited to orientation, brand training and other customer service training, creating a collaborative learning environment.
- Partner with department managers and Area HR Director to understand training needs and translate them into comprehensive learning strategies.
- Develop and update training materials (course outlines, slides, participant materials, job aids, quick reference guides, eLearning, videos, etc.) to align with specific training needs and keep them updated as changes occur.
- Implement evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning programs against key performance indicators. This includes pulling reports, analyzing data, and working closely with department managers to drive course uptake and demonstrate tangible business impact.
- Keep up with industry trends and best practices in learning and development, actively seeking out and evaluating emerging technologies and approaches.
- Maintain training matrices, track certifications, and ensure compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Perform various Human Resources support functions, such as, re-setting UKG access for associates, being the first point of contact, assisting where possible and escalating to other HR team members when needed.
- An HR professional with a minimum of four years’ experience developing and delivering training programs within a hotel environment.
- A post-secondary education in Human Resources.
- Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to Safety.
- An agile leader, with high emotional intelligence, who fosters high-performing teams through active listening, empowerment, support and building strong, trusting relationships.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment and the ability to use discretion and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality, ethics and company standards.
- Excellent organizational, follow-through and workload planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- A skilled facilitator, able to flex style and delivery to adapt to learners’ needs.
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who values teamwork and collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
- Physically able to stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time.
- Physically able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance.
