Trans Mountain is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and values driven individual to join our dynamic team as a Payroll Analyst. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time while ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements. The successful candidate will have ownership of the complete payroll cycle from time and attendance, processing pay and providing reports and analysis as required to support other aspects of Human Resources (HR) for Canadian and U.S. employees and retiree payroll in ADP Workforce Now.

Key Responsibilities

  • Time & Attendance Management:
    Validating time entries, including corrections, discrepancies, and time‑off requests. It also includes ensuring compliance with HR policies and legislation, as well as ensuring payroll integrations and balancing, along with schedule assignments.
  • System Maintenance & Optimization:
    Updating and auditing payroll GLs, time codes, pay codes, schedules, and time‑off policies. It also involves collaborating with HR to streamline data entry and improve workflows, and identifying ways to improve and proposing solutions in payroll applications to enhance efficiency.
  • Employee & Leader Support & Communication:
    Addressing payroll and timekeeping inquiries, conducting orientations for new hires and students, and contributing to payroll communications on the intranet and organization‑wide notifications.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    Generating payroll and HR reports for audits, compliance, and management. It also involves supporting GL reconciliations, budget inquiries, and administering time‑off policies, bonus, and tax programs, as well as administering year‑end purchased vacation deferrals, Time Off banks, periodic payouts, and bonus/merit programs.
  • Payroll Data Management:
    Maintaining accurate employee records, including driver license records, job changes, and terminations. Additionally, it involves inputting and auditing data in ADP, GNA, and D365 to ensure integrity and confidentiality.
  • Payroll/Timecard Processing & Compliance:
    Requires processing bi‑weekly, semi‑monthly, and monthly payrolls using ADP and GNA for Canadian and U.S. employees and retirees. This responsibility also involves ensuring compliance with HR policies and federal, provincial, and state regulations, and managing statutory…
