What does this role look like?
Purpose
The  Manager, HR Advisory – Client Service Delivery  provides leadership and strategic direction to the HR Advisory team, ensuring high quality, consistent and timely delivery of HR services across the Calgary Board of Education (CBE). This role is accountable for strengthening the HR service delivery model, ensuring clear and responsive pathways into HR, and enhancing the client experience for schools and service units.

Working in direct partnership with the  Manager, HR Advisory Services – Labour Relations , this role is responsible for ensuring the HR Advisory function operates through a clearly defined, transparent, and accessible service model that enables leaders to understand how and when to engage HR support. This role ensures leadership and staff receive proactive, practical and trusted HR advice. By fostering collaboration across HR functions and integrating HR services into daily operations, the  Manager  ensures Advisory services are delivered through a coordinated approach, reducing ambiguity and improving clarity for leaders navigating HR processes.

Accountability
Reporting directly to the Director, Labour Relations, HR Advisory Services, and Employee Health & Well-Being and working in partnership with the  Manager, HR Advisory Services – Labour Relations , this job is accountable for:

Leading and managing a team of Senior HR Advisors and HR Advisors, setting direction, priorities, and service standards.
Accountable for HR service delivery to schools and service units, including timeliness, quality, and consistency of advice.
Accountable for the design, communication, and continuous improvement of service pathways into HR, ensuring leaders experience seamless and coordinated support across HR portfolios.
Represents the Advisory function on cross-functional HR projects and system-wide initiatives.
Provides strategic oversight of workload distribution models, intake processes, and service metrics to ensure sustainable and responsive Advisory capacity.
Accountable for developing and sustaining strong working relationships with system leaders, including principals, managers, and service unit directors.

HR Service Delivery Strategy & Model

Leads the design, refinement, and ongoing evaluation of the HR Advisory service delivery model.
Establishes clear, efficient, and client-centered pathways into HR services, ensuring clarity of roles, points of contact, and escalation processes for schools and service units.
Identifies service gaps, redundancies, and opportunities to streamline processes.
Develops service standards, intake processes, and escalation pathways to improve responsiveness and clarity.
Uses data and feedback to inform continuous improvement of HR service delivery.
Establishes and monitors service performance indicators (e.g., response times, case trends, client feedback) to strengthen transparency and accountability in service delivery.
Provides clear direction and leadership to a team of Senior and HR Advisors, ensuring clarity of roles, priorities, and workload.
