Senior Advisor, Labour Relations is a key position that is accountable for ensuring that our employees are being supported in a manner that is consistent with best practices, policies and procedures outlined by PASS’s Corporate People & Culture Department. In addition to day-to-day labour relations in compliance with several collective agreements within the Prairies Region, the Senior Advisor, Labour Relations is also responsible for the following functions:

Responsibilities- Provide guidance and advice to management on disciplinary actions, terminations, and Federal employment laws and regulations across the region
- Provide oversight, guidance, mentorship and leadership for Labour Relations team members
- Communicate effectively with employees and management to identify problems and resolve conflicts
- Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints and provide appropriate resolutions
- Work closely with several cross functional departments across the region
- Play a key role supporting management in Grievance and Arbitration meetings
- Support the representation of management in the Collective Bargaining process
- Deliver coaching and training programs on the Collective Agreements, employee relations issues such as respectful workplace, conflict management, and harassment
- Analyze employee engagement and turnover data to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement
- Ensure compliance with federal employment laws and regulations
- Be an expert and source of knowledge to others on the Collective Agreements
- Collaborate with People & Culture Team to update and maintain the employee handbook and other HR policies and procedures
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
- Support the People & Culture Team with a variety of initiatives as required
- Bachelor's degree in labour relations, human resources, or related field
- Master's degree is an asset
- CPHR/CRHA designation is an asset
- 5+ years of experience in labour relations or related field
- Experience in collective bargaining, grievance procedures, and dispute resolution
- Thorough knowledge of Federal labour laws and regulations
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring more junior HR/LR professionals
- Experience working with labour unions
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and eligibility for Federal Security Clearance
- Travel will be required to other airports in the region.
