Position: Front Office Manager on Duty

Front Office Manager on Duty
to lead the charge at Hotel Arts and oversee our busy Front Office operation.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring guest service standards in all areas to meet the diverse and unanticipated needs of the varying guests at Hotel Arts
  • Assuming front line responsibility for providing guest recovery solutions
  • Setting an example for guest service expectations as embodied in their actions and behaviors at all times
  • Reviewing all daily and weekly arrivals and in-house guests for accuracy of reservation details and rates, and ensuring all special requests are met
  • Reviewing all VIP and frequent guest arrivals and anticipating their needs, preparing accordingly for their arrival
  • Updating guest profiles with pertinent preferences, concerns and comments
  • Ensuring billing and adjustments, and cashier cash-outs are accurately posted and reviewed, liaising with accounting to correct any discrepancies
  • Leading relevant and informative pre shifts and shift change pass-ons for all departments on a consistent basis
  • Ensuring daily duties of the Front Desk/Guest Service agents are completed accurately and attentively.
  • Reacting to changing occupancy levels and adjusting schedules accordingly
  • Assist the Rooms Operations Manager in managing the performance of all members of the Front Office Team through coaching, training, remediation and evaluations.
Ideal Candidate
  • 1-2+ Years’ Experience in Front Office Operations required
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management is an asset.
  • A flexible schedule is essential. Evenings, Weekend, Holiday and overnight work may be required.
  • Knowledge in Opera or other Property Management Systems is an asset.
  • Valid Alberta Driver's license is an asset.
  • Microsoft Office product knowledge required.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience is an asset.
  • Positive, professional, motivating personality with great leadership skills
