Position Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the administration, operation and supervision of all staff in the housekeeping department. They promote a positive image of the hotel to guests and fellow employees; as well as, motivate and guide the staff to ensure all public, employee areas, and guestrooms meet established cleanliness and quality standards while ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards in accordance with the hotel.

Education

And Experience
  • High school diploma or work-related equivalent.
  • Three (3) years-experience in housekeeping related industry.
  • Three (3) year supervisory experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to promote, maintain, and deliver impeccable service standards at all times.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team-oriented environment and be able to function independently.
  • Customer service experience and well-developed leadership skills.
  • Ability to maintain their composure even when dealing with angry or demanding patrons or employees.
  • Ability to work in a physically, high-volume, fast-paced, multi-tasking, and diverse high stress environment.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor associates.
  • Excellent negotiating, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be accurate, clear, concise, and detail oriented.
  • Must be available for shift-work (days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays), and be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be aware of and able to work in a smoke environment.
  • May require lifting weight of up to approximately 50 lbs.
