Position: Crisis Counsellor I / II - ECMHS

Overview

We re a not-for-profit mental health centre based in Calgary, with locations across Alberta. Our mission is to build good mental health and well-being so everyone can thrive in their community. We re looking for one (1) Full-Time Crisis Counsellor I / II to join our team!

Responsibilities
  • Ensures that all persons calling for crisis assistance receive prompt, professional, and effective services.
  • Provides emergency face-to-face meetings in the home and/or in the community.
  • Supports other Wood  Homes Programs by offering crises support.
  • Ensures that community professionals collaterally involved with a case are kept up to date about developments and are included in case planning with the permission of the family.
  • Ensures that up to date information about community resources are available to families and young people.
  • Reviews difficult cases through a consultation process with Program Managers and other designated consultants.
  • Ensures that information concerning services provided is accurately logged and tabulated.
  • Assists with the collection of data to demonstrate program use and identify areas of community need.
  • Is responsible for the overall maintenance of the workspace.
  • Reports workplace hazards, unsafe or unhealthy conditions, or incidents (including near misses, injuries, or equipment damage) to their direct supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Level I - Undergraduate degree in the Social Sciences.
  • Level II - Masters degree in the Social Sciences.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of residential/community child and youth care experience and/or crisis work experience is preferable.
  • Must have own transportation.
  • Personal suitability.
