Location:
Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre (RRC), Edmonton, Alberta.
Position: 0.60 FTE, 7.75 hours per shift, 12‑week cycle, shift pattern days, evenings, nights, weekends. The role requires working all shifts and on‑call as needed.
Job OverviewThis position is responsible for providing the highest quality MRI service to clients. You will produce and record magnetic resonance images for diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology, prepare and position patients, review patient history, explain procedures, and respond to the physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure. You will also maintain MRI equipment and practice infection control and safety techniques.
Responsibilities- Produce high quality diagnostic MRI images as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients for examination.
- Review patient history and explain procedures to patients.
- Respond to physical and psychological needs of patients throughout the scanning procedure.
- Maintain MRI equipment and ensure its safe operation.
- Practice infection control and MRI safety techniques.
- Assist in on‑call duties and support the MRI team.
- Completion of a diploma from an accredited Medical Resonance Imaging program or a certificate from an accredited MRI Technologist program plus a diploma in Medical Radiology, Diagnostic Sonography, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy.
- Active registration or eligibility with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- Successful completion of CAMRT registry exam in MRI.
- Member in good standing and current registration/eligible with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with professionals, and to work under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Fluency in English.
- ACMDTT enhanced practice for venipuncture and medication administration.
- Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH (RRC) MRI.
- FTE: 0.60, posting end date 19-Jan-2026.
- Salary: $41.11–$52.84 per hour.
