Job OverviewUnder the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform a variety of ultrasound examinations (abdominal, pelvic, thyroid and superficial soft tissue mass) while observing patient safety practices. You will also liaise with other clinic staff, physicians and administrators to ensure effective delivery of our services. This is a part time position and hours will vary depending on the clinic’s needs.
Responsibilities- Receive and complete requisitions, enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system and prepare patients for specific procedures
- Gather and verify patient history and relevant information prior to beginning scan
- Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with regulatory body guidelines and TELUS’ policies
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed for each scan
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of PACS
- Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized and safe workspace
- Comply with patient safety and confidentiality policies
- Perform related clerical and administrative duties as necessary
- Completion of a recognized post-diploma sonography program, or equivalent
- Current Sonography Canada registration in good standing - RequiredCRGS
- Previous experience as a general sonographer, largely transabdominal, pelvic and abdominal scans
- CPR and WHMIS certification(s) considered an asset
- Previous experience with PACS and GE ultrasound equipment is beneficial
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a dynamic team
- Commitment to providing high quality patient care and customer service is essential
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and ability to work well under pressure
Salary Range: $60,647 - $112,630
