This role is designed for individuals with a strong foundation in energy markets, quantitative modeling, and commercial strategy. The successful candidate will support the evaluation of new structured deals, optimize existing asset portfolios, and generate actionable trade ideas across natural gas, crude, and power markets.

This position blends commercial structuring with market analysis and trade strategy development. • Develop and present trade strategies across commodities, leveraging statistical, technical, and fundamental signals. Deliver ideas with clear risk/reward profiles and supporting analysis
  • Use quantitative modeling to scrape market data, automate data pipelines, and build tools that enhance visibility into trade positions, asset utilization, and market trends
  • Evaluate and structure internal and external assets in the energy sector
  • Lead transaction teams with commercial and analytical expertise, oversee and guide valuation modeling assumptions and analysis, and continuously improve analytical processes
  • Develop a deep understanding of TC’s power trading business, exposures, strategies and market fundamentals
  • Work across gas, power, and crude teams to unify structuring efforts and deliver integrated commercial solutions
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in Finance, Business, Economics or Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience in this environment
  • Experience managing dynamic workflow and multiple projects
  • Demonstrated in depth knowledge of wholesale electricity markets and associated infrastructure supporting those trading marketplaces
  • Demonstrated ability to automate workflows and build analytical tools that improve commercial outcomes
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Math, Finance, MBA, Engineering or Economics or related quantitative discipline.
  • Working towards or recently attained a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Functional knowledge of Lower 48 Gas system, Transportation and Storage Intrinsic and Extrinsic analysis as well as ERCOT, SPP, PJM, and MISO power markets
  • Experience in an energy trading & marketing business and understand how value is derived
  • Understanding of complex gas transactions such as Transportation and Storage, heat rate call options (HRCOs), revenue puts, and energy asset management agreements
  • To remain competitive, support our high-performance culture and allow for more flexibility in the way we work, we offer a hybrid work model and flexible dress code for our eligible office-based workforce in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico. #LI-Hybrid
