Adecco is currently hiring a full-time Indirect Commodity Tax Advisor looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, fast-paced environment working for our client in Calgary, AB. You will play a key role in supporting both compliance and advisory functions across a wide range of Canadian commodity taxes. This position provides technical expertise, prepares tax filings, and supports internal teams through analysis, guidance, and audit-related activities.
  • Location: Calgary, AB
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday |40hours per week
  • Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 1-year contract

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file a variety of commodity tax returns, including fuel tax, excise tax, sales tax, GST/HST, and other applicable jurisdictions.
  • Ensure all filings are accurate, timely, and compliant with current legislation.
  • Assist in preparing supporting schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.
  • Provide clear, practical commodity tax guidance to internal stakeholders across the organization.
  • Research tax issues and interpret legislation to support business decisions and minimize tax risk.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements and automation opportunities within tax workflows.
  • Support commodity tax team members in managing external regulatory audits.
  • Extract and analyze relevant data from systems (including SAP) to respond to audit inquiries.
  • Maintain organized documentation to ensure efficient audit preparation and resolution
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of Canadian commodity tax compliance experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with SAP, including S4 HANA, is an asset.
  • Experience with Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query) is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision.
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
