Brief Description
This role is responsible for the financial planning, tracking, and oversight of capital projects across the organization. The Opportunity
This role is responsible for the financial planning, tracking, and oversight of capital projects across the organization. The position ensures all capital initiatives are accurately reflected in budgeting and project management systems, supports the annual capital budgeting process, and provides ongoing forecasting, variance analysis, and accrual management.
Responsibilities
Ensure all projects are accurately loaded in project management system for annual budget inclusion.
Prepare and present the annual capital budget for management review.
Load capital budget into budgeting system.
Initiate funding and set up approved capital projects.
Produce monthly capital actuals, forecasts, and variance analyses for Finance.
Manage capital reclassification entries. Create unbudgeted projects.
Coordinate documentation and approvals for IT Steering Committee and Capital Committee.
Manage funding process for off-cycle capital requests in the project management system.
Ensure in-service dates, completion reports, and other needed project approvals are accurate and timely.
Manage monthly and quarterly accruals.
Partner with project owners and Fixed Assets to ensure compliance with capitalization policy.
Provide financial guidance on capital projects.
Respond to ad hoc financial and capital-related requests.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, or related accounting roles.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
