Bridging the Gap Scholarship Program Overview

At TD, we believe education opens doors and contributes to the long-term well‑being of individuals, their families and our communities. To help drive these principles, TD Securities has created the Bridging the Gap Scholarship Program to recognize outstanding Canadian undergraduate students – both academically and with respect to extra‑curricular and/or community service.

Successful Applicants Will Receive
  • A 4‑month paid internship position with TD Securities in Investment Banking.
  • The benefit of a TD Securities business mentor, available for the full length of the internship.
  • A monetary scholarship of C $10,000 to be applied toward tuition and school‑related expenses for the 2027/2028 school year, upon completion of the internship.
Candidate Eligibility
  • Identify as one or more of the following:
    Indigenous – First Nation, Inuit or Métis; 2

    SLGBTQ+;
    Black; a woman; a person with a disability; and/or a visible minority.
  • Attend an accredited Canadian university (Approved School) on a full‑time basis.
  • Be enrolled in a 4‑ or 5‑year undergraduate program at an Approved School, graduating in December 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be able to attend the work term in person (relocation expenses not covered).
Application Requirements

1. Answer the following essay question AFTER your initial application has been submitted: A maximum 400‑word essay describing a time you demonstrated resilience, adaptability, or leadership and how it illustrates the qualities you would bring to the TD Securities culture and a role in Capital Markets.

2. Submit a copy of your most recent unofficial university transcripts.

3. Submit a copy of your current resume and cover letter including projected graduation date.

Investment Banking at TD Securities

Your Summer as an Investment Banking Analyst
  • Assigned to the Calgary coverage group; gain experience in mergers & acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions across a range of industries.
  • Work under the overall direction of a senior officer in a group of experienced professionals as they generate ideas, advise clients and execute transactions.
How You Will Contribute
  • Research and analyze clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and merger and acquisition opportunities.
  • Develop valuation models of individual private and public companies as well as merged entities.
  • Apply valuation tools to assess opportunities.
  • Value private and public companies.
  • Assist with client negotiations and documentation.
  • Prepare external client proposals and internal underwriting memos.
  • Prepare client presentations based upon the above.
Qualifications
  • Graduating in December 2027 or spring/summer 2028 with an undergraduate degree.
  • Have a combination of strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities and a solid foundation in finance or mathematics.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g. sports, clubs, extracurricular activities, philanthropy).
