Airswift is seeking a Senior IT Project Controller to work with one of our clients in the oil and gas industry in Calgary or Edmonton, AB on a 12-month contract.

The Senior IT Project Controller is responsible for leading the project controls team providing strategic guidance, financial oversight, analysis and reporting for a large-scale IT Integration program.

Job accountabilities include:

• Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

• Conduct financial analysis, including scenario planning, and present insights to senior leaders to support decision-making.

• Overseeing budgeting and monthly close processes in conjunction with Corporate Finance to support corporate accounting deadlines

• Ensure compliance of accounting treatment aligned with US GAAP and Corporate accounting policies

• Implement and maintain program control processes to track program cost across multiple workstreams.

• Facilitate program change requests and present associated financial impacts

• Manage a team of 1-2 Program Financial Analysts

• Maintain a flexible and proactive approach to changing circumstances and emerging challenges

Must Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

• Minimum 10 year of experience with progressively increasing responsibility in Financial Analysis, Planning and Reporting, including reporting to senior/executive management

• Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

• Prior experience acting as the Project Controller for large scale IT Projects

• Experience in IT M&A programs is considered an asset.

• Expert Excel and Microsoft Office suite user

• Demonstrated ability to develop and report on complex financial models, including budgeting, forecasts, variance analysis

• Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills
-communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions

• Proficiency in using financial software and program management tools.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Ability to work under pressure

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals

• Strong team player collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources. Strong leadership skills.

• Experience working with others on a global basis
