Freelance Tax Manager

• Completing quarterly and annual income tax projection packages, including preparing supporting schedules and journal entries
• Analyzing and reconciling selected tax general ledger accounts
• Preparing detailed working papers for annual corporate income tax filings and reviewing information provided by others
• Planning and leading tax compliance engagements for corporate tax returns
• Collaborating with clients and partners on tax planning strategies
• Preparing audit-ready working paper information for Canadian tax audits
• Reviewing non-resident withholding tax payments and annual returns
• Having indirect tax experience is an asset
• Improving and streamlining tax processes, including utilizing technology and automation

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a CPA (CA/CMA/CGA) designation
• Completion or near completion of the CPA In-depth Tax Course or Master of Taxation (MTax) program
• Strong understanding of advanced financial and income tax accounting
• Excellent analytical skills
• Broad-based tax skills and strong technical background, ideally from experience in a professional services firm or industry
