Role Responsibilities

The Regional Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight for the Kananaskis Regional Maintenance Program. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of diverse regional infrastructure by overseeing preventative, predictive, demand, and lifecycle maintenance activities.

This position supports operational excellence in a region where asset portfolios are complex and systems are evolving, by coordinating maintenance programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining high standards of asset reliability, and leading both planned and unplanned maintenance responses in the event of asset failure.

This role works closely with internal teams, contractors, capital project groups, and external partners to uphold the integrity and functionality of regional facilities and systems, diagnose issues and implement corrective actions in environments that include varied Building Automation Systems and facility types, with differing operational requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to
:

  • Lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of regional maintenance programs, in a mixed-maturity asset environment, including preventative, predictive, demand, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and technical guidance to maintenance staff, responsible for a broad and complex set of regional assets, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement maintenance standards, procedures, and integrated safety work practices, particularly where formal asset management systems are emerging or require further development.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and documentation to ensure program compliance and effective system performance.
  • Coordinate reactive maintenance and emergency responses, including BAS-related alarms, system failures, outages, and environmental incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce recurrence and improve long term asset reliability.
  • Manage asset inventory, condition assessments, lifecycle planning, and prioritization of maintenance projects in a region with diverse infrastructure and varying states of documentation.
  • Develop, tender, and administer service contracts, working with Contract and Procurement staff to ensure high‑quality performance and adherence to procurement and financial policies.
  • Collaborate with capital project teams during design, commissioning, and warranty phases to ensure maintainability and operational alignment.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with regulators, municipalities, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
