Civil Structural Project Engineer

We have an immediate opportunity for a Civil/Structural Engineer. If you have your P.Eng., 10 years of practical experience in structural engineering design and Project Management, experience in failure analysis, and enjoy a challenge, this is the opportunity for you.

• Investigate the origin and cause of failures, damages or defects in the civil/structural fields within residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Analyze the failure of building systems, determine the cause of failures, evaluate the quality of construction, or review design or maintenance procedures.
• Perform field investigations, lead multi‑party examinations and documentation of damaged property.
• Research failure modes and code requirements as needed, prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate.
• Prepare reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of the damages to clients.
• Manage or work with multi-disciplinary teams on large and complex assignments.
• Establish trusted working relationships with clients and interact socially at mixed engagements with clients.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• Active P. Eng. is required (in the province of employment is preferred).
• 10 years’ experience in design in a combination of residential, commercial and industrial settings preferred.
• Experience as a multi-disciplinary Project Manager.
• Experience on construction sites desired.
• 25‑30%+ travel.
• Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
• Ability to work in high areas such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, balance, and resistance to acrophobia.
