Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled EHT Engineer to join our team and lead electrical heat tracing (EHT) design and calculations for critical oil, gas, and petrochemical projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on FEED and detailed design phases, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with EHT calculations, demonstrating ownership of deliverables and technical expertise in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Perform self-executed EHT calculations using Thermonon or equivalent vendor software, including circuit sizing, controller selection, and setpoint development.Develop comprehensive EHT deliverables such as isometrics, wiring diagrams, panels, layouts, and BOMs.Prepare EHT Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for pre-FEED and FEED phases.Support EHT scope development across conceptual, FEED, and detailed design stages.Integrate EHT systems with electrical distribution and review related documentation for accuracy and compliance.Review and authenticate vendor drawings and participate in technical meetings and site visits.Mentor junior engineers and support workshare / HVEC teams to ensure project success.Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering and registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta.8 to 20 years of electrical engineering experience within the Oil & Gas sector.Proven, hands-on experience performing EHT calculations with Thermonon or equivalent software.Proficiency with ETAP and SKM electrical analysis tools.Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.Ability to work independently, demonstrate ownership of deliverables, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.Willingness to travel as required for site visits and project meetings.
