We’re looking for a Packaged Equipment Engineer to join us in our Calgary, Alberta or Edmonton, Alberta offices.

The Packaged Equipment Engineer will be responsible for leading all aspects of gas processing packages from conception through completion. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in gas processing equipment packages, and the ability to coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

The Packaged Equipment Engineer will oversee a multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation teams to deliver bespoke process equipment packages on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, proposal development, scheduling, evaluation, award, and execution of gas processing packages on projects.
  • Develop project scopes, technical requirements, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or challenges that arise during the execution phase.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team throughout the design phase and engagement with equipment vendors and sub vendors.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Work closely with vendors and subcontractors to design, build and deliver technically compliant, fit for purpose packages.
  • Conduct technical reviews and participate in design reviews to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Project Manager/Director and other stakeholders, maintaining regular communication to provide updates on package status and address any concerns.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery of equipment and materials.
  • Manage expectations and resolve conflicts to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure that gas processing packages meet or exceed industry standards and client specifications.
  • Ensure inspections and audits take place throughout the fabrication and assembly process to identify and address any quality issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the quality control team to develop and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in packaged equipment management, preferably with a focus on gas processing equipment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of gas processing equipment, including compressors, separators, dehydration units, and other related components.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience working on behalf of an oil & gas equipment fabricator is an asset.
