Process Engineer

Process Engineers are leaders, problem solvers, and bridge builders. In this role, you will provide technical process support across the entire project team while working closely with clients to deliver exceptional results. You will be accountable for executing technical strategies throughout the project lifecycle and will directly impact overall project performance and client experience.

Our client in the consulting engineering space within SAGD and heavy oil is looking to add a process engineer to their well-established team. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers, project controllers, vendors, and suppliers to deliver high-quality, innovative energy projects.

• Partnering with the Project Manager to execute process engineering responsibilities on challenging and innovative energy projects.
• Leading and delivering a wide range of process engineering assignments.
• Contributing to design reviews and participating in project meetings.
• Reviewing and interpreting scope of work to implement effective engineering solutions.
• Analyzing complex technical issues and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Driving engineering excellence by identifying opportunities to automate, optimize, and improve productivity and efficiencies.
• Ensuring project execution aligns with professional engineering standards and internal quality management practices.
• Identifying operational barriers and improving the reliability of engineering deliverables.
• Communicating and collaborating effectively with managers, project teams, vendors, and clients.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
• APEGA Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng).
• Minimum 5 years of applicable process engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills are an asset).
• Experience developing industrial facility deliverables including:
• PFD & P&t
• Design Basis Development
• Mechanical / Process Equipment Specification and Design
• Strong technical engineering foundation with exposure to project management responsibilities.
• Ownership mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Initiative, teamwork, innovative thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in emerging energy fields is considered a strong asset.
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, continuous delivery environments.
