The Opportunity

McElhanney is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team in Calgary, AB. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their Civil3D and design engineering experience by working on oil and gas site grading/layout, culverts, linear utilities, and resource road projects.

What

You’ll Do
  • Assist in the production of engineering designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and tender documents for energy and resource engineering projects.
  • Take projects from preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans, and project documentation requirements, using primarily Civil 3D, as well as other technical software as needed.
  • Coordinate the preparation of documents required for regulatory approvals and prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
  • Liaise with contractor, clients/owners and affected stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D Software.
  • Registration as an ASET T.T. or another technical accreditation is an asset.
  • Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Civil Engineering Technology is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision as well as within a busy and close‑knit team environment.
What Can We Offer You?

The salary range for this position is $56,000 to $80,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
