Geospatial Summer Student Technician

What the position entails:

Join Geo Verra as a student and receive hands‑on experience with a company whose employees are at the heart of the organization. You will be responsible for efficiently processing, managing, and delivering field survey data using remote sensing technologies such as 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping, and aerial surveying equipment. You will ensure the data meets industry quality standards and develop, automate, and document the required workflows.

You will help with AI/ML data classification, cataloguing, indexing, and labelling. Work with a variety of remote sensing data, checking for accuracy, completeness, consistency, relevance, and validity for machine learning. This role will also require researching and testing geospatial software and hardware, formulating and testing theories and methodologies, and occasional fieldwork may be required.

• Target Programs: ENCI, ENGO, ENCI-AOS, ENGO-AOS
• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of advanced technologies such as 3D laser scanning, mobile mapping and UAV is preferred.
• Basic skills in point cloud processing and registration are preferred. Experience using any of the following tools will be considered a strong asset:
  Leica Cyclone, Leica Register
  360, Trimble Business Center, Trimble Real Works, Faro Scene, TopoDOT, 3DReshaper, Terra Scan, and/or others.
• Basic knowledge of drafting and feature extraction from point cloud data is preferred. (e.g.: AutoCAD/Civil3D, Topo Dot, Micro Station)
• Basic knowledge of as-built 3D modeling is an asset.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work without day‑to‑day supervision.
• Ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Programming language proficiency (Python, C#, etc.) is an asset.
