Summary

Reporting to the Water Treatment Foreman, the Water Treatment Supervisor will primarily be responsible for supervising the Water Treatment Operations team. You will be part of a team who operates the industrial wastewater treatment plant(s) (WTP), a multi-facility storm water collection system, domestic wastewater treatment plant, potable water filtration and disinfecting plants, and other equipment as required. Your contributions will help ensure ongoing success with Keno Hill’s ability to operate in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

What You Can Expect In This Role
  • Ensure that operation of facilities meet all applicable regulatory requirements and in accordance with design criteria.
  • Support development and implementation of techniques and methods of process control which increase plant efficiency and meet organizational governance requirements and standards.
  • Monitoring and coaching of crew members to ensure that all work performed is done in an efficient & effective manner and that proper operations and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all Environmental and Safety standards and procedures are maintained and followed.
  • Assist in planning and executing capital projects.
  • Ensure maintenance systems are followed by entering work orders and participating in planning meetings.
  • Perform plant maintenance on equipment and facilities.
  • Practice and promote company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • You will help to promote a strong environmental culture, promoting and teaching environmentally friendly values and work practices.
  • You will help to foster a strong safety culture, promoting and exemplifying safe work practices throughout the organization.

Qualifications
  • 10 years of mine water treatment plant experience with 3 of those years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong maintenance background with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Certificate.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute job activities.
  • Positive and proactive attitude towards safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Pre-employment Requirements
  • Pre-Employment Testing (drug & alcohol, blood lead, and audiogram)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
