Calgary, Alberta office is searching for a Civil Stormwater Engineer to join its growing team. This role involves designing and managing stormwater systems to prevent flooding, protect the environment, and support community well-being. The position works in a multidisciplinary environment on projects with sustainability mandates and low-impact development strategies.
Role contextThis role sits within Arcadis’ global business area Places. We work with clients worldwide to create, support, and enhance smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive.
Role accountabilities- Perform hydrological and hydraulic modelling, including data collection, design review, model setup and calibration, and system assessment
- Support the development of stormwater servicing plans
- Develop rainwater source control LID concepts and assist in LID designs
- Provide technical analysis in support of Civil engineering design for municipal or rural stormwater systems and stormwater management facilities
- Provide quality control and peer review on colleagues' projects
- Coordinate with CAD design technologists to prepare designs following quality procedures
- Coordinate with project managers on site design, budget, scheduling, proposals and related technical documents
- Develop and maintain positive client, subconsultant, and approving authority relationships
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Registration as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) or EIT with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in assessment, modeling, and detailed design of stormwater systems; experience in general municipal engineering, transportation, or community development projects is preferred
- Experience in infrastructure master planning, flood management, or river modelling is an asset
- Excellent organizational, communication, and technical writing skills
- Strong software skills: PCSWMM, XPSWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMMYMO, Civil 3D, and Excel/Word/Bluebeam

CompensationThe salary range for this position is $85,000 to $120,000. The base salary is Arcadis’ hiring range for this role; actual salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
