NSB Omega is searching for a Geologist for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.

Qualifications Required
Reporting to the Manager, Geological Optimization, the Contract Senior Geologist will be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to optimizing SAGD pads across the Foster Creek and Lloyd Thermal assets. This role focuses on enhancing production efficiency, supporting development planning, and ensuring reservoir integrity through advanced geoscience practices. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with engineering and geophysics teams to deliver innovative solutions that maximize long-term value.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Client's short- and long-term development plans, including well execution, surveillance, and production optimization.
- Provide geological properties for production forecasting and contribute to regulatory applications, scheme amendments, and directives.
- Drive workflow optimization projects to improve geoscience and reservoir engineering processes and outputs.
- Conduct resource assessments using integrated datasets to support production forecasts throughout the SAGD pad lifecycle.
- Generate innovative ideas for redevelopment of producing areas to deliver incremental value.
- Interpret observation well programs and cased-hole logging data (e.g., RSTs, piezometers, thermocouples) and analyze steam chamber core results.
- Collaborate with geophysicists to interpret 4D seismic and integrate steam chamber insights into geological models.
- Characterize reservoirs using all geoscience datasets, incorporating production and conformance results to refine geological models.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to troubleshoot production and steam trends, aiming to maximize output and minimize SOR.
- Monitor reservoir integrity and containment issues proactively.
Job Qualifications
- Professional Geologist designation with APEGA or APEGS accreditation.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in geoscience roles.
- Preference for SAGD thermal or other enhanced oil recovery experience in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan.
- Experience in horizontal well planning and execution considered an asset.
- Advanced technical competency in geoscience disciplines with strong integration skills across multiple domains.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence without authority.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
