What a day at EXP has in store for you
Building envelope design review of the architectural drawings and specificationsReview of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests and, request for informationMock-up review, plant visits and witness testingAttendance of meetings with the Architects, Clients, Contractors, and TradesAssessment of building envelope assemblies in existing buildingsReport writing and review of reports from junior staff membersProviding technical guidance to junior staff and clientsDesign and preparation of construction documents of building envelope assemblies in restoration
Preparing proposalsPreparing specifications and drawings for rehabilitation and design projectsConducting construction contract administration and construction review servicesPerforming building condition assessments, performance audit, asset and propertyReview/assessment, reserve fund studies, design, and coordinating various building repair(s)Liaising with clients, building strong client relationships, and generating new businessMentoring junior staffWhat your experience looks like
7+ years of technical experience in building science with proven ability to manage projects and help facilitate business developmentCollege degree or diploma in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Building ScienceIn depth knowledge of various building envelope systems and assemblies is requiredIn-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines related to building envelope systems and assemblies is an assetKnowledge of the Building Code and energy standards is an assetExperience in new construction projects is requiredExperience in building condition assessment, building envelope condition assessments and restoration is an assetValid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for site visitsAbility to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workersAbility to work effectively in a high demand and fast-paced environmentEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
