Materials Testing Technician – Calgary, AB

We’re looking for a technician who will conduct both field and laboratory testing, support our Civil Engineering teams, and help deliver construction quality control and assurance services.

• Work as part of a multi‑discipline team to provide excellent service to our clients.
• Conduct laboratory soil testing including wash sieve analysis and proctor tests.
• Conduct laboratory concrete testing including compressive strength of cylinders and cubes.
• Conduct laboratory asphalt testing including Marshall and Superpave.
• Conduct field testing of concrete (slump, air content, cast cylinders) and field compaction testing using a nuclear densometer.
• Prepare daily reports and send them to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as required.

• 1+ years of experience in earthworks, concrete, or asphalt construction and interest in construction technology.
• Construction inspection and/or survey experience is an asset.
• A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is an asset but not required.
• CCIL/ACI certification or the ability to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of CSA and ASTM testing methods is an asset.
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varied environmental conditions, including remote and wildlife‑populated areas.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively as a team player.
• Strong communication skills and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to travel to remote sites and work away from home for extended periods.

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $70,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
