Compression Service Manager – Relocate to Midland

White Tail Automation, in conjunction with Victory Compression and Power, is seeking an experienced Compression Service Manager to lead and support our compression service operations in Midland, Texas. This role is ideal for a proven compression professional who combines strong technical knowledge with leadership, planning, and customer‑facing skills. The Compression Service Manager will oversee field service teams, ensure operational excellence, and drive safe, reliable performance across our natural gas compression assets.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Lead and manage compression service operations, including maintenance, overhauls, repairs, and field response.
  • Oversee daily activities of service technicians and mechanics, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard.
  • Assign work, prioritize service calls, and manage manpower to meet operational and customer demands.
  • Support complex troubleshooting efforts on engines, compressors, and auxiliary systems as needed.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to mechanics and field technicians.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of service personnel.
  • Foster a strong safety culture and accountability across all service teams.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers regarding service performance, planning, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with customers, operations, and engineering teams to ensure compression reliability and uptime.
  • Assist with service planning, maintenance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Promote and enforce HSE standards, JSAs, lockout/tagout, and safe work practices.
  • Review service documentation, maintenance records, and field reports for accuracy and completeness.
Your Skills and

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience working with natural gas compression equipment, including leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of compressor engines, frames, cylinders, valves, ignition systems, and controls.
  • Experience with CAT, Waukesha, Ariel, or similar compression equipment (highly preferred)
    Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and support multiple field operations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technicians, customers, and management.
  • Solid understanding of HSE requirements and best practices in oil & gas environments.
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced, field‑based environments.
  • Willingness to relocate to Midland, Texas.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Working Conditions:
  • Field‑based role with travel to various sites as required.
  • Work performed in outdoor industrial environments, in varying weather conditions.
  • On‑call rotation or overtime may be required.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
