Description
This role requires open availability, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays from 11–7.
RoleThe Birthday Party Instructor plays a crucial role in creating a positive and memorable experience for customers celebrating birthdays. This includes the party facilitation, pre‑party setup, post‑party cleanup, and providing leadership to the volunteer team. Effective communication, organization, and a customer‑focused mindset are essential.

Customer Experience
- Communicate with all birthday party participants, parents and/or guardians in a positive and professional manner.
- Collaborate with co‑workers to provide an engaging and well‑organized program.
Leadership
- Be a positive role model for birthday party participants.
- Supervise participants throughout all parts of the birthday party.
- Be an active participant in the birthday party activities.
- Respond to emergency situations utilizing training and MNP Community & Sport Centre Policies and Procedures.
- Carry a first aid kit.
- Carry a birthday party radio at all times.
Organizing and Planning
- Plan physical literacy–enriched sessions for participants including cooperative games, teambuilding and wide games.
- Follow daily birthday party schedule, using replacement activities where necessary.
- Set up and take down equipment.
- Fill out accident/incident reports when required and follow up as needed.
- Respect and maintain equipment and supplies, and encourage participants to do the same.
Training
- Attend birthday party specific training.
- Attend in‑services, meetings and training as required.
What You’ll Need
- 1 year of experience working with children.
- Experience with children with disabilities and/or special needs is an asset.
- High energy level with excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven track record working independently and in a team environment.
Education
- Program‑specific training and experience.
- CPR C/AED (recertified within one year) and Standard First Aid (recertified within 2 years – required before employment can commence).
- Police check, with vulnerable sector check.
