Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world‑class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.

We are seeking a passionate Unity developer with a deep understanding of Unity, C# and game development to instruct our Video Game Coding summer programs to learners aged 13-15. Students will learn the key concepts of game development and how to bring ideas to life using industry‑standard tools and processes. Learners will acquire the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to create their own simple games using Unity and C# scripting.

The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in Unity Editor, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio, Object‑Oriented Programming, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.

Video Game Coding is a 1‑week course that will be offered 3 times in July and August in‑person in Calgary, in partnership with Mount Royal University Camps at their campus. Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 8:00am‑4:30pm MT from July 6‑10, July 20‑23 and August 10‑14 (plus 1 week in June for training).

Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in January 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Create lesson plans and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following Circuit Stream's Video Game Coding course curriculum (provided).
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their Maze Adventure project.
  • Showcase proficiency in Unity and 2D game‑development concepts.
  • Share real‑world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade and provide feedback on assignments and final projects that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.
Requirements
  • Availability to teach during the day (from 8am‑4:30pm) in July and August 2026 (dates listed above).
  • Previous professional experience in game development or Unity development roles is an asset.
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Game Development or similar programs.
  • Proficiency in Unity and C#.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up‑to‑date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
  • Previous experience teaching coding to kids/teens or experience as a teaching assistant for university or college level courses.
