Reports to:
Active For Life Coordinator
As the Camp Inclusion Lead, your primary role is to mentor and support camp leaders in facilitating inclusive and adaptive experiences for all campers. You will help guide leaders in working with children and youth who require additional support, ensuring every participant has a safe, fun, and successful experience within Vivo’s camp programs.
Responsibilities Program Leadership & Administration- Plan, lead and support inclusive camp programming, ensuring activities are adapted to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all participants.
- Mentor and coach camp leaders on best practices for inclusion, accessibility, and equitable program delivery.
- Model inclusive leadership and help cultivate a camp culture grounded in empathy, respect, and belonging.
- Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of camp practices related to inclusion.
- Support leaders in learning and implementing new strategies to enhance accessibility and inclusivity across all programs.
- Mentor and coach camp leaders on best practices for inclusion, accessibility, and equitable program delivery.
- Collaborate with families and staff to create individualized plans for campers requiring additional support or accommodations.
- Provide guidance to camp leaders on de‑escalation strategies, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution for campers as needed.
- Ensure the safety, well‑being, and positive experience of all campers through proactive supervision and support.
- Ensure compliance with Vivo’s organizational values, health and safety standards, and child protection policies.
- Education or experience in Recreation, Education, Child and Youth Care, Disability Studies, or a related field.
- Experience working with children and youth of varying abilities in a recreation or camp setting.
