Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere to all policies and procedures in the Examination Centre Proctor Guide
Ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available before exams begin
Arrange exam room according to the Seating Plan
Set up and test laptops and internet connections, resolving any technical issues
Verify candidate identity using government-issued photo IDs
Address candidate issues or concerns
Read aloud the Head Proctor Script verbatim
Supervise exam candidates and monitor for rule violations
Work with other proctors to maintain a professional exam environment
Uphold Insurance Institute regulations and report any breaches
Ensure candidates stop typing when time expires
Submit an Examination Sitting Report after each session
Log out of the Locked Down Browser and reset the exam room at the end of the day
Secure laptops and equipment after exams.
Requirements and
Qualifications:
Retiree, active professional, or university/college graduate
Industry experience preferred but not necessary
Previous proctor or customer service experience
At least 18 years old
Proficiency in basic computer functions and troubleshooting
Physical ability to carry and set up heavy equipment (up to 10 kg)
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and/or French
Ability to work 8-hour shifts
Availability for multiple exam dates preferred
Adherence to a business casual dress code
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to project authority and enforce rules
Punctuality and deadline adherence
Comfort with standing or walking for extended periods
Problem-solving skills and professionalism
High reliability and accountability
Team-oriented mindset
No criminal record
Not currently enrolled in CIP or GIE courses
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
