Hays has partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for an Intermediate Interior Designer to join their growing production team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale andplexity,mitting to high quality innovative design on all. As an Intermediate Architectural Technologist you will be working acrossmercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential project types.

Your new role

In your role, your duties and responsibilities will be: working with clients to determine needs and coordinate construction specific details, advise client on space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, interior finish selections and coordination. Detailing of custom millwork pieces for construction plans and review details of technical drawings or specifications. Review of shop drawings during construction forpliance with working drawings.

Coordinate with other professionals, such as contractors, architects, engineers, and trades. Estimate project budget costs for use during Design Development and present design alternatives and solutions to client for approval. Render design ideas in form of paste-ups or drawings. Draw detailed or technical illustrations. Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Designer.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will have a Diploma in Interior Designer from an accredited institution, with 4+ years of Interior Design experience. You will possess proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up and AutoCAD. Prior experience working on a variety of projects, ideally with extensive experience in institutional design.

Experience of preparation of construction drawings and specifications. You will be hardworking, strong attention to detail and excellent graphicmunication and presentation skills.
