Position: Recording Engineer/ Music Producer

Alchemy Recording Studio is a professional recording and production studio located in the N.E. area of Calgary, close to downtown and the airport. We offer a private and comfortable environment for a variety of music and production needs, including singer-songwriter and band demos, full album productions, and post-production work.

Overview

This is a part time position. We are seeking a talented and creative Engineer / Music Producer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire music production process, from concept development to final mixing and mastering. This role requires a strong understanding of audio engineering, music composition, and digital media tools. The Music Producer will collaborate with artists, sound engineers, and other creative professionals to deliver high-quality musical projects that meet artistic vision and technical standards.

Candidates should possess a passion for music, innovation, and excellence in production quality.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute music production concepts aligned with project goals and artistic direction
  • Record, edit, mix, and master audio tracks using industry-standard software and hardware
  • Collaborate with artists and composers to refine musical ideas and arrangements
  • Manage project timelines to ensure timely delivery of completed tracks
  • Utilize digital media tools such as Pro Tools
  • Coordinate with sound engineers and other team members to optimize audio quality.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in music production or related roles within the music or entertainment industry
  • Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs). Must know Pro Tools
  • Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite:
    Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator;
    Final Cut Pro;
    Adobe After Effects
  • Knowledge of sound engineering principles and mixing/mastering techniques
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • A portfolio demonstrating previous work in music production is highly desirable
