Match Box Consulting is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected North American construction group that delivers large, complex industrial and commercial building projects for established clients across Canada.

They are seeking an experienced Travelling Superintendent who enjoys running major sites, working with strong teams, and taking on projects that require real leadership and organization. This role involves rotational travel across Canada, primarily supporting projects in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario, with FIFO rotations and Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided.

This is a strong opportunity for a Superintendent who wants to work on large industrial builds such as food processing facilities, distribution centres, and warehouse developments with aggressive schedules and well-resourced project teams.

The Role

The Superintendent leads the construction process on site, ensuring all activities align with the design, schedule, safety standards, and project budget.

You will plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control all on-site construction activities while coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead site operations and construction activities on large projects.

  • Maintain and enforce strong safety standards across all site operations.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.

  • Run site meetings, communicate progress, and resolve construction challenges.

  • Work closely with project managers, consultants, and clients.

  • Manage labour, materials, and equipment to support the project schedule.

  • Ensure compliance with building codes, specifications, and regulatory requirements.

  • Motivate and organize crews to maintain productivity and quality.

Required Experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or senior site leader.

  • Proven experience delivering large industrial or commercial construction projects.

  • Project experience including:

    • Food processing facilities

    • Distribution centres

    • Large warehouse developments

  • Experience managing large site development (15–100 acre sites) is valuable.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with aggressive schedules.

Additional Qualifications
  • Skilled Trade certification considered an asset.

  • Ability to travel across Canada on rotational assignments.

  • Eligibility to travel to the United States is considered an asset.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable managing large site teams and multiple subcontractors.
