Company Overview

We are a privately owned environmental construction company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Our aim is to build a sustainable future through innovative construction solutions, prioritizing environmental responsibility and economic growth. We specialize in decommissioning, demolition, environmental construction, reclamation, and remediation. We cater to a diverse clientele in oil and gas, mining, and industrial markets.

At Sublatus, our values set the pace. They guide how we show up, how we work together, and how we deliver safe, high‑quality results with pride and integrity while building strong teams and supporting long‑term growth.

As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a Field HSE Advisor who wants this to be their first big step in safety. This role is designed for a new or recent HSE graduate who’s ready to get out in the field, learn from experienced mentors, and grow with an innovative company that has a clear development path and long‑term plans for you.

About

the Role

You’ve just finished (or are close to finishing) your safety or environmental program and you want more than a desk job. As our Field HSE Advisor, you’ll launch your career in the field, working side‑by‑side with crews on remediation, reclamation, demolition, and civil earthworks projects.

If you are looking for a role to develop your career in Health & Safety, this could be the role for you. You will build a deep understanding of how the site work we do, gets done through structured on‑the‑job field experience, and progressively grow into a trusted Field HSE Advisor who leads safety activities and partners with operations to keep people safe and projects moving.

If you enjoy hands‑on work and want to see the direct impact of what you do, this role is built for you.

Why this Role Is a Great Fit for a New Grad
  • Field‑first learning:
Spend your first months embedded with project teams observing how jobs are planned, how equipment is used, and what “real safety” looks like on changing sites, not just in a manual.
  • A clear path for learning:
Follow a structured roadmap that shows how you move from new grad to fully functioning Field HSE Advisor, with milestones you can see and discuss.
  • Real responsibility early:
As you grow, you’ll help lead toolbox talks, inspections, and incident follow‑ups that directly affect crew safety and performance.
  • Serious variety:
Work across different project types and locations, gaining experience with different teams, conditions, and client expectations.
  • Built‑in mentorship:
Get regular coaching and feedback from the HSE Manager and experienced supervisors who want you to succeed and will invest in your growth.

  • Complete company onboarding and required safety training (e.g., orientation, WHMIS, First Aid, CSTS).
  • Support basic site activities as appropriate (e.g., organizing materials, assisting with simple field tasks) to stay connected to the work and build trust with the team.
