Salary: $15.00 - $18.66/hour + associated provincial hourly wage top up

At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:
- The ability to work scheduled shifts between the hours of 7am – 6pm, Monday-Friday;
- The individual may be required to travel and work in multiple locations;
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification – Level 1, 2 or 3;
- Experience working with children aged 12months - 6 years in a licensed child care setting;
- A positive attitude and collaborative teamwork approach;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including basic computer literacy;
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations:
Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol; - Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
- Three professional references.
Reporting to the Child Care Supervisor, the Part Time Relief, Early Childhood Educator will:
- Fill in for absent staff members as assigned;
- Utilize a cooperative team approach for managing centre operation needs;
- Consistently deliver a diverse, developmentally appropriate program while actively engaging with, and effectively supervising, participants. This includes support for the personal care needs of the children;
- Demonstrate safe practices and act promptly on all health and safety risks and concerns. Effectively manage emergency situations as per YMCA procedures;
- Acquire and maintain required certifications and training;
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor environment;
- Engage in centre, facility and association events, happenings and initiatives as required.
