Please note this is a Casual (on‑call) role. There are no guaranteed hours and directors will reach out to employees to cover shifts depending on the needs of the centre. This role offers an opportunity for additional classroom hours for employees who have an ECE level.

We are looking for a Van Driver for our Out of School Care program. The ideal candidate has prior experience driving a school or daycare bus, or a daycare van. A Level 1, 2, or 3 Alberta Child Care Certification (or willingness to obtain it) is required. Good driving skills, experience driving children, and a clean driver abstract are essential. The candidate must be highly motivated, adaptable, and fluent in English.

A current criminal PHY record check and first‑aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring) are also required.

• Driving groups of children to and from school throughout the day
• Supervising during pick‑ups and drop‑offs
• Actively engaging with and supervising school‑age children during field trips and at the centre
• Following the Alberta Early Learning and Childcare regulations, as well as Active Start’s policies
• Actively supervising and engaging with children of all ages at the centre, while ensuring their well‑being
• Cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

• A Class 4 driver’s licence to drive the van
• Prior childcare/daycare experience is an asset
• Level 1, 2, or 3 Child Care Certification is a must
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Professionalుతూ, adaptable, and fluent in English
• Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations (preferred)
