Job DescriptionAs Analyst, Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating royalty-based investment opportunities engaged in the sustainable production of commodity and commodity-like products. This role is hands‑on and execution-oriented, offering direct exposure to live transactions, senior leadership, and Board-level decision-making.
A core expectation of this role is to act as an internal champion for AI‑enabled tools and workflows, with a mandate to materially improve the efficiency, quality, and scalability of CVW’s deal sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, and asset management processes.
You will be responsible for supporting the full investment lifecycle – playing a key role in initial opportunity identification and evaluation, and supporting the due diligence and deal execution. This includes developing financial models, deploying AI-based data scraping and analysis tools, enhancing internal AI utilization, conducting market analysis, and preparing investment recommendations for senior leadership, the Investment Committee, and the Board of Directors.
You will work closely with counter parties, internal technical teams, and external advisors to structure and execute transactions that align with CVW’s strategic objectives.
The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, commercially curious, and comfortable taking ownership of projects in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated experience applying AI tools to real-world business problems.
Who You'll Work WithAs a member of our Corporate Development team, you will report directly to the Manager, Corporate Development and play a key role in supporting CVW Sustainable Royalties’ Executive team. You will gain direct exposure to Investment Committee and Board materials and benefit from close mentorship while being given meaningful responsibility early in your tenure.
You will ideally be based in our Calgary office with a flexible work philosophy based on Company needs.
What You'll Do1. Deal Sourcing:- Assist in identifying potential royalty transaction targets or investment opportunities and progressively take ownership of market mapping and opportunity identification efforts.
- Analyze industry trends, emerging markets, and competitors to identify strategic opportunities for investment in the sustainable production of commodities and commodity‑like products (hydrocarbons, metals and minerals, agriculture) across North America, Europe, and Australia.
- Assisting the team in outreach to potential counter parties including by developing an automated outreach tool.
