WHY CALGARY AIRPORTS

Powered by heart and dedicated to excellence, we’re the team that keeps Calgary connected – and you could be our newest member.

We’re in the business of uplifting people, and every day, we create runways to new places and possibilities, building a better airport experience for everyone.

What’s The Team Like

The Emergency Preparedness team at Calgary Airports plans, tests, and improves how the airport responds to emergencies, disruptions, and unexpected events to keep passengers, staff, and operations safe. Their work matters because preparedness and coordinated response are critical in a busy, 24/7 airport environment where safety and continuity are essential. By working across departments and with external partners, the team supports safe operations, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience, helping Calgary Airports remain reliable during both routine activities and high impact situations.

Students are included in real preparedness activities, gaining hands‑on exposure to how emergency planning works in practice.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of full-scale and tabletop emergency exercises in alignment with Canadian Aviation Regulations and Canadian Aviation Security Regulations.
  • Assist with exercise development, including scenario design, objective setting, stakeholder coordination, and logistics.
  • Participate in exercise debriefs and support the preparation of after-action reports to capture learning opportunities and improvement actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the Airport Emergency Operations Centre (AEOC) to ensure readiness of equipment, systems, and documentation.
  • Support the development and delivery of emergency preparedness training, including updating manuals, maps, and training materials.
  • Provide support for emergency management systems and administrative activities, including user account management, meeting participation, and preparation of documentation.

In either case, you must be able to provide documentation and confirm that you will be returning to school after the work term is completed.

  • You’ll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don’t worry – we’ll help you through this! For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information.
