About Helcim

Helcim was founded with a mission at heart: to be the world’s most loved payment system. We believe that by offering small businesses in North America a decidedly human payment solution where it is easier to sign up and use while being transparent and affordable, we can empower them to grow and prosper. Simply put, helping small businesses thrive is at the very core of our business model, and we think that’s a great way to do business.

From the start, we wanted to be different from every payment processor out there. We want the merchants we serve to feel supported and see us as a trusted partner rather than simply another “cost of doing business.” We are relentless in our pursuit to provide a radically transparent and honest payments solution that flat out saves business owners money, all while treating them like human beings.

The

Position

We’re on a mission to build better payments, and that means delivering secure, seamless, and merchant-friendly processing experiences. As a Senior Product Manager on our Software Apps team, you will shape the roadmap for our payment systems. This role is more than prioritizing the backlog—you will own the product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring a seamless and secure payment experience for our customers.

This role requires a deep understanding of payments software, a strong ability to translate user needs into detailed features, and a proven ability to deliver impactful payment solutions through effective roadmap and backlog management. While you may not have all this experience Day 1, you’re excited to go deep to understand the ins and outs of payments.

Responsibilities

Here are the things you’ll own day to day:

  • Own and champion the product roadmap for our core payments platform, aligning it with the overall company goals and objectives.
  • Translate user needs and business requirements into a prioritized backlog of features and enhancements for our payment systems.
  • Manage the product backlog, ensuring it is constantly refined, updated, and reflects the current priorities of the core payments team.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross‑functional teams to estimate, plan, and deliver on the roadmap.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior teammates and create a radius of impact that extends across teams.
  • Ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement of our payment processing systems through effective roadmap execution.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the payments space, proactively identifying opportunities to incorporate them into the roadmap.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and identify opportunities to differentiate our payment offerings.

Execution & Optimization:

  • Manage the entire product lifecycle for your area, including research, design, development, and launch within the core payments domain.
  • Oversee the implementation of product initiatives from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery and successful adoption.
  • Identify, build, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product performance, identify areas for optimization, and measure the success of initiatives.
  • Analyze user behavior, conduct market research, and leverage data‑driven insights to inform roadmap and backlog prioritization.
  • Serve as a liaison between the development team and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment around the roadmap and backlog.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, providing clear and concise updates on product progress, challenges, and opportunities.
A Successful Candidate
  • 6+ years of relevant product management experience, with a strong focus on customer‑facing software, ideally in payments.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, roadmap planning tools, and backlog management systems.
  • Proven ability to define and manage a product roadmap that delivers impactful payment solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform product decisions.
